Kerala couple Anupama S. Chandran and Ajith Kumar B got married

The couple had submitted papers to legitimize their union a month ago and were allotted the last day of the year to start a new chapter in their lives.

Anupama S. Chandran and Ajith Kumar B, the Thiruvananthapuram couple, who fought a successful battle to get back their biological child, ended the year on a high note when they got married here on Friday.

Just a month after the family court here granted custody of their one-year-old son, Anupama and Ajith tied the knot in the presence of a young girl at a local registrar’s office here.

The couple had submitted papers to legitimize their union a month ago and were allotted the last day of the year to start a new chapter in their lives.

They first wanted to tie the knot but their focus was solely on getting their child back which was taken away by Anupama’s parents and left for adoption.

Anupama said, “We are happy, and the feeling is sweetened by the fact that we were married in the presence of our boy.”

Anupama’s son was snatched from him by his parents when he was just three days old. Her adoption process was initiated without her consent, and the infant was placed in pre-adoptive foster care.

After quashing the adoption proceedings, the family court eventually ordered Anupama’s release.
