The CM has directed the Health and Education Departments to make arrangements for vaccination by vaccinating students in class 10, 11 and 12 in schools.

The Kerala government has decided to discontinue the offline classes for the students due to the increase in the COVID-19 cases in the state. The decision was taken after a high level meeting. Offline classes for students up to class 9 will remain suspended for two weeks starting January 21.

Till then only vaccinated students of classes 10 to 12 will be allowed to attend classes on campus. The CM has directed the Health and Education Departments to make arrangements for vaccination by vaccinating students in class 10, 11 and 12 in schools. Whether schools will be reopened for non-vaccinated students after another review meeting to be held in the second week of February.

The spread of Kovid is highest in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts. The CM has directed the district collectors to identify the clusters and ensure containment.

Pregnant women in government services will be allowed to work from home.

All official events in government, public sector companies and cooperative sector should be conducted online. All commercial enterprises should promote online sales. To avoid overcrowding in malls, it should be ensured that only one person is allowed per 25 square feet. The district administration should ensure that entry into the mall is allowed only according to these numbers.

The CM has directed the officials concerned to send a message to Sabarimala devotees who had made bookings to postpone the pilgrimage for darshan from January 16. The maximum number of devotees that can be allowed will be decided after discussion.
