Days after a woman doctor was brutally murdered by a patient at a hospital in Kerala, a man turned violent and allegedly tried to attack a male doctor at a government medical college in Kochi. Police gave this information today.

Twenty-four-year-old Doyle, a resident of Vattekunnam in Edapally, was arrested late on Monday after the incident, they said.

After being injured in a road accident last night, the accused took treatment at the Government Medical College.

According to the hospital staff, he was behaving strangely ever since he came to the premises. Tried to assault the doctor who came to treat him.

In a purported video that went viral on social media platforms this morning, Doyle can be seen arguing and threatening doctors and other hospital staff.

Some other people accompanying him could be seen trying to pacify him, but he continued to misbehave with the health workers.

The man was later overpowered by the hospital’s security personnel and the Kalamassery police were alerted.

Before he is taken away in a police vehicle, the man can be seen clearly threatening the doctor saying that he clearly remembers his face, as shown in the video.

A senior police officer told PTI that the accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Hospital Safety Act.

“Her arrest has been registered under IPC sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from her duty), 294 (b) (using abusive words) and 506 (criminal intimidation) besides sections of the Hospital Safety Act was done. He will be produced. before the court today,” the officer said.

In another incident, a man has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with doctors and health workers at General Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

The injured person was taken to the state hospital on Monday night for treatment.

Police said that there, he insulted the health workers and verbally abused them for his alleged pain while his wound was being dressed.

He said that soon after that he was arrested and a case was registered against him.

State Health Minister Veena George strongly condemned both the incidents and warned of strict action against those who attacked health workers.

He said in a statement here that all measures are being taken to counter attacks against health workers by plugging the loopholes in the existing law.

Ms. George also urged the public to ensure the safety shield of the fraternity.

The attack comes days after a female doctor was brutally stabbed to death by a patient at a hospital in Kollam district.

A native of Kaduthuruthy area of ​​Kottayam district and house surgeon at Azizia Medical College Hospital, Dr Vandana Das was working at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital as part of her training. He was stabbed several times and later died on 10 May.
