Kerala School Kalolasavam 2023: Selfie points add charm to the festival

The artistically designed nooks and corners of the State School Arts Festival venues in the city have emerged as selfie points for most of the visitors and participants from different parts of Kerala. Most of such pictures and reels have been captured on the fly spreading the true spirit of the festival in the virtual world.

“For us, selfie pictures are like writing in a diary. They capture the true mood of the occasion and leave lasting memories in the virtual space. Next year, we will be automatically reminded of these photo memories in our social media accounts,” says Jasmine Mohammed, one of the school fest participants. She also says that a selfie is also a celebration of friendship which reflects the true spirit of the occasion.

For some others, clicking selfies is the easiest option to communicate with your friends about the happenings in daily life. “As a status update on social media, I always set the best moment of the day as a selfie. Kalolasavam was such a wonderful moment,” says Sangeetha Prasad, who had come along with her friends to celebrate the selfie moment. She also notes that the guitar-modeled flag post and awareness tree against drug abuse have caught the attention of most selfie fans.

For youngsters, photo spots set against the backdrop of Theyyam and Kathakali are attractions. Some such selfie corners have also emerged as favorite camping spots for social media promoters to generate their content.
