Kerala sees another drop in daily new Covid infections; Active Cases 14,153

Another drop is being recorded new covid casesKerala today reported 1,408 fresh COVID-19 infections and 44 deaths. This is significantly less than Saturday when Kerala recorded 1,836 new Covid cases and 124 deaths. With this, the total infections in Kerala have gone up to 65,12,089, while the latest death toll has taken the total death toll to 66,180, a government release said.

Of the total deaths reported on Sunday, 2 were reported today, 27 occurred in the past few days but were not documented and 15 were designated as COVID-19 deaths following the latest guidelines.

A total of 3,033 more people have been cured of Kovid-19 since Saturday and now the total number of cured people in Kerala is 64,30,941. active case It has also come down to 14,153, the release said.

In the last 24 hours, 25,325 samples were tested.

Districts most affected by Kovid:

Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases at 204, followed by Kottayam at 188 and Thiruvananthapuram at 174. Of the new cases, 8 were health workers, 2 were from outside the state and 1,336 were infected, the source of which was unclear in 62. Currently 75,365 people are under observation in various districts, of whom 74,070 are in home or institutional quarantine and 1,295 in hospitals, it said.

Decline in India’s Covid-19 cases:

India on Sunday reported a further decline in the number of Covid-19 cases as updated data from the Union Health Ministry reported 5,476 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Additionally, there was a sharp drop in COVID-19 deaths with 158 deaths recorded in a 24-hour period. Whereas as per the updated data, 9,754 recoveries were recorded with 59,442 active cases in the last 24 hours.
