Kerala women’s body takes cognizance of alleged misbehavior by Congress MLA

The court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Eldhos Kunnapilly

Kozhikode:

The Kerala Commission for Women on Wednesday said that the commission has taken cognizance of the alleged sexual abuse of a woman by Perumbavoor Congress MLA Eldhos Kunnapilly.

Kerala Women’s Commission Chairperson P. Satheedevi said, “It has come to notice that the victim of the Aldos Kunnapally MLA sexual abuse case is being continuously threatened.” “We assure all possible help to the victim,” he said.

A woman had recently filed a case of rape and attempt to murder against a Congress MLA.

The court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Aldhos Kunnapilly. He appeared before the investigation team for questioning on Saturday.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran has suspended Kunnapilli from the membership of KPCC and DCC for six months.

“The KPCC leadership has assessed that the explanation given by the MLA was not satisfactory. In its decision allowing anticipatory bail, the court has considered the concessions and the requirement to perform one’s duties as an MLA member in his/her constituency. In view, KPCC has suspended him from KPCC and day-to-day affairs of DCC for a period of six months. The party will inspect him during this period and accordingly further action will be decided,” the suspension order cited. .
