Kia India ramps up production: Carrence, Seltos drive growth – Times of India

Today, kia india announced that it will start the third shift at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. After seeing an increase in demand for kias For the cars in the Indian market, the company has decided to increase the production to the full capacity of 3 lakh cars annually. Moreover, this ramp up will also reduce the waiting period for Kia vehicles in India.
Currently, Kia has four cars available for sale in India – SeltosSonnet, Carnival and recently launched cairns,

We have hired additional manpower and aligned resources to help reduce waiting times on Kia cars and meet the high demand in the domestic and international markets. Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India said in a press statement.
He added, “India is a strategic market for Kia globally and all our products have received an overwhelming response here. As a committed car manufacturer, it is our duty to ensure speedy deliveries to our customers and thirdly The beginning of shift will ensure that.”
Kia India recently crossed 5 lakh dispatches from Anantapur plant, which includes 4 lakh domestic sales and 1 lakh exports. Since commencing shipping the Seltos, the company has exported cars to over 91 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and Asia Pacific.
With the launch of Kia Seltos in 2019, Kia entered the Indian market. While the Seltos is currently one of the best selling SUVs, the Sonet has also performed well in comparison to its rivals. Even the new Carriage got off to a great start and the company announced over 19,000 bookings around the time of the vehicle’s launch. Starting at a price of Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom, all India), the Carriance is available in both petrol and diesel engines with multiple transmission options.
