kias India today announced that its mid-sized SUV, the Kia Seltos Has crossed the 3 lakh sales mark in the country. The company further said that the Seltos has managed to achieve this feat in less than 3 years, making it the fastest SUV to achieve the milestone. Kia Seltos Has been a true game changer for the company. Kia India is all set to celebrate its third anniversary in India on 22nd August’22, which marks the completion of three years of the launch of Seltos in India.
The company also said that Seltos accounts for around 60 per cent of the company’s total sales in the country. Apart from its successful journey in the Indian domestic market, with 103,033 Seltos exported to over 91 countries so far from the Kia India Anantapur plant, the Seltos has shown strong demand in the overseas market as well.
Kia India recently crossed the 5 lakh sales mark in the country, with Seltos accounting for nearly 60 per cent of the total sales. 58% of Seltos sales come from its top variants, with the vehicle’s automatic options contributing around 25%. The company also said that the demand for petrol and diesel variants of Seltos is balanced, with around 46% customers preferring the diesel variants of Seltos.
Powertrain options in the Seltos include 113 bhp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 138 bhp 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor and 113 bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine. There are various transmission options on offer, including 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed IMT, IVT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed torque-converter AT.
Kia also recently announced that 6-airbags will be offered as standard across all variants, other standard safety features of the Kia Seltos include ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HAC (Hill -Start Assist Control), VSM. (Vehicle Stability Management), seat belt reminder, all-wheel disc brakes and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The higher variant also gets front parking sensors, LED fog lamps and a 360-degree parking camera among others.
