The invites for one of the most anticipated events of 2023 have finally dropped. royal family Invitations to the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla were released on Wednesday. The invite mentions that the event will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Abbey Church of Westminster.

The invitation also revealed the new title of Camilla Parker-Bowles. The invitation reflects the official use of “Queen Camilla”, a change from the title of “Queen Consort”.

The invitation has been designed by Andrew Jamieson. It featured motifs of the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, a symbol of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new regime.

According to the official website of the royal family, over 2000 invitations will be sent over the next few days.

A royal source told the BBC that in the early part of the new reign, it would make sense to use “Queen Consort” to differentiate her from the late Queen Elizabeth. But by the coronation, it would be an “appropriate time” for her to officially change to “Queen Camilla”.
