Kingston Technology has announced its new pocket-size XS2000 external SSD drive and DataTraveler Max. The new drives have a compact form factor and are claimed to deliver decent transfer speeds via USB 3.2 Gen 2 standards. Both products connect over USB Type-C and can be easily used with mainstream devices on the market. On top of content creation and commercial use, the XS2000 and DataTraveler Max can also be used as extended storage for the PS5.

The Kingston XS2000 is rated to offer transfer speeds of up to 2000MB/s and will be available in 500GB to 2TB storage capacities. The company claims that it takes about 30 seconds to transfer 1 hour of 4K video. The drive has a USB Type-C interface which makes this drive compatible with both mobile devices as well as PC. Furthermore, it comes with a removable ruggedized sleeve and IP55-rating to withstand water and dust.
