Singer KK passes away In a shocking development, singer Krishnakumar Kunath, popularly known as KK, passed away on Tuesday after his live performance at a concert in Kolkata. He was 53 years old.

Officials said KK was feeling unwell after reaching his hotel in the evening after performing at a concert, where he sang for nearly an hour. He was taken to a private hospital in south Kolkata where doctors declared him brought dead, they said.

“It is unfortunate that we could not treat him,” said a senior hospital official.

A versatile talent, KK has recorded songs in languages ​​including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali among others.

Sharing his condolences, Prime Minister Narendra Modi struck a chord with people of all age groups…we will always remember him through his songs.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed grief over the demise of popular singer KK.

West Bengal Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Arup Biswas told media persons that the body has been sent for post-mortem.

“His family members have been informed. He is likely to reach Kolkata on Wednesday morning,” Biswas said.

He said that KK came to Kolkata on Monday and the same day he performed at a function organized by another college in the city at Nazrul Manch.

Born on August 23, 1968, KK recorded songs in several languages ​​including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

Several singers from Kolkata have expressed grief over the sudden demise of KK, who will be remembered for songs like ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’, ‘Yaaron’, ‘O Meri Jaan’.
