Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI after day-long questioning.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it was aware that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia would be taken into custody by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sometime today after he went to take him into custody in the Delhi liquor policy matter. AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “The CBI is completely working at the behest of the broker. We were always sure that Manish Sisodia would be arrested.” “It is sad and worrying how the investigative agencies function,” he added.

Banka’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa has told you very dangerous that CBI is being intoxicated. Referring to Sisodia’s education and finances, Sirsa told NDTV, “He may have worked on education, but that doesn’t mean he should indulge in corruption in liquor policy.”
AAP MP Sanjay Singh directly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the arrest. He tweeted, “The arrest of Manish Sisodia is the height of dictatorship. Modi ji, you have not done a good job by arresting a good person and a good education minister. Even God will not forgive you. One day your dictatorship will definitely end.”
Manish Sisodia and others have been accused of corruption over the new liquor policy in the national capital. Lt Governor VK Saxena had ordered a CBI inquiry last year. Later the Delhi government had reverted to the old liquor policy and accused the Lt Governor of loss of revenue running into crores of rupees.
The BJP said the Delhi government has brought back corruption in Manish Sisodia’s excise department by reverting to the old liquor sale policy.
