Know Your Candidates: Bareilly Cantonment Full Candidates List for UP Election 2022

Bareilly Cantonment seat will go to polls in the second phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on February 14. The result of Bareilly Cantonment assembly election will be declared on March 10. Bareilly Cantt is a part of Bareilly Lok Sabha constituency.

Voting is to be held in 55 assembly seats of the state spread over nine districts of western UP, Amroha, Bareilly, Bijnor, Badaun, Moradabad, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sambhal and Shahjahanpur.

BJP has fielded its sitting and four-time MLA Rajesh Agarwal from Bareilly Cantt seat. In his place, the saffron party has fielded Sanjeev Agarwal, who is the co-treasurer of the state unit. After Congress hopeful Supriya Aaron joined the Samajwadi Party, the oldest party had to field Mohammad Islam Ansari. Aaron, the former mayor of Bareilly, is now the SP candidate.

Following is the complete candidate list from Bareilly Cantt Assembly seat along with details of his 2022 election affidavits analyzed by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR):

Sanjeev Agarwal, Bharatiya Janata Party

Sanjeev Agarwal replaced sitting MLA Rajesh Agarwal, who is a four-time MLA. Sanjeev is the co-treasurer of the state unit and is one of the four candidates who come under the ‘millionaire’ category in the assembly. According to the election affidavit, he has total assets of Rs 23.5 crore, of which Rs 6.6 crore are movable and Rs 17 crore are immovable. He has a liability of Rs 2 crore. The 59-year-old postgraduate has not declared any criminal case in his affidavit and has declared his own income of Rs 14.3 lakh.

Mohammad Islam Ansari, Indian National Congress

Ansari is the candidate in place of former Congress candidate Supriya Aaron. In his election affidavit, the 54-year-old has not declared any criminal case. The ‘crorepati’ candidate has declared total assets of Rs 3.4 crore and no liability. Ansari is literate and has movable assets worth Rs 67.6 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 2.7 crore. He has declared self-income of Rs.3.1 lakh.

Supriya Aaron, Samajwadi Party

One of the richest candidates overall, former Bareilly Mayor Supriya Aaron joined the SP from Congress after 15 years. The 60-year-old ‘crorepati’ candidate has declared total assets of Rs 157.3 crore and liabilities of Rs 57.6 lakh. He has movable assets worth Rs 10.2 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 147.1 crore. He has declared self-income of Rs.7 lakh. According to the election affidavit, he is a post graduate.

Anil Kumar, Bahujan Samaj Party

Anil Kumar is a graduate with total assets of Rs 97.8 lakh and liabilities of Rs 8.2 lakh. The 41-year-old has movable assets worth Rs 27.8 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 70 lakh. He has declared self-income of Rs 5 lakh and no criminal case in his election affidavit.

Ram Gopal Kashyap, Shiv Sena

According to his election affidavit, Kashyap has not declared any criminal case. He has declared total assets of Rs 18.4 lakh, of which Rs 10.4 lakh is movable and Rs 8 lakh is immovable. The 43-year-old graduate has no liabilities and has declared self-income of Rs 5.7 lakh.

Shivri Nagvanshi, Aam Aadmi Party

One of the three women candidates, Nagvanshi has not declared any criminal case in her affidavit. The 12th pass out has declared total assets of Rs 23.6 lakh, which includes his movable assets. One of the young candidates in the fray, he has no liabilities, immovable property or even income of his own.

Rahis Mia, Vanchit Samaj Insaaf Party

As per her election affidavit, Rahis Miya has not declared any criminal case. Miya’s net worth is Rs 15.6 lakh, of which Rs 55,000 are movable and Rs 15 lakh are immovable. He has no liabilities or self-income. The 67-year-old has claimed to be literate in his affidavit.

Vinod Kumar Gautam, Jan Shakti Ekta Party

Gautam, 43, has not declared any criminal case in his affidavit. He has declared total assets of Rs 36 lakh, of which Rs 12 lakh is movable and Rs 24 lakh is immovable. He has a liability of Rs 15 lakh. The candidate has declared his own income of Rs 5 lakh in his election affidavit.

Vishnu Maurya, Jan Sevak Sahayak Party

Maurya has not declared any criminal case in his election affidavit. The 31-year-old claims to be literate. He has declared total assets of Rs 6.1 lakh, which includes his movable assets. He has not declared liabilities, immovable assets or income himself.

Shahnaz Begum, Peace Party

Begum, another woman candidate in Bareilly Cantt election, has not declared any criminal case in her affidavit. The 38-year-old illiterate candidate has declared assets worth Rs 10.5 lakh, out of which Rs 2.5 lakh is movable and Rs 8 lakh is immovable. He has not declared any liability and self-income.

Adarsh ​​Kumar Gupta, Independent

Gupta, one of the five independent candidates contesting from Bareilly Cantt, has not declared any criminal case in his election affidavit. 43 years old post graduate. He has declared total assets of Rs 36 lakh, of which Rs 12 lakh is movable and Rs 24 lakh is immovable. The candidate has declared liability of Rs 15 lakh and self-income of Rs 5 lakh.

Krishna Pal, Independent

With three cases registered against him, Pal is the only candidate to have declared a criminal record in his election affidavit. This 50 year old player is 12th pass. He has declared total assets of Rs 18.2 lakh, of which Rs 18,315 are movable and Rs 18 lakh are immovable. He has no liabilities and self-income.

Chandra Bhoj Pathak, Independent

Pathak has not declared any criminal case in his affidavit. The 52-year-old claims to be literate. He has declared total assets of Rs 3.1 crore, of which Rs 29 lakh are movable and Rs 2.8 crore are immovable. The ‘crorepati’ candidate has a liability of Rs 4.2 lakh and own income of Rs 5 lakh.

Mohammad Nafees, Independent

Nafees has declared total assets of Rs 2.4 lakh, which includes his movable assets. The 66-year-old Class 8 pass-out has no liabilities, immovable assets or own income. He has not declared a criminal record in his election affidavit.

Sunil Kumar, Independent

Sunil Kumar has declared total assets of Rs 12.8 lakh, out of which Rs 1.8 lakh is movable and Rs 11 lakh is immovable. The 49-year-old Class 10 pass-out has no liability, or income on its own. He has not declared a criminal record in his election affidavit.
