Kota: A private tuition teacher, who is absconding after allegedly strangling a 15-year-old student here, has been arrested from Haryana. Gurugram, said the police. Accused Gaurav Jain (28) had killed the minor girl inside his house in Bajajkhana. Rampura city The police station was on February 13 and was absconding since then.
Police said that 30 police teams were formed to nab him and finally Jain was arrested late on Monday night from outside his sister’s house in Gurugram.
An official said a team was deployed in the hope of Jain reaching out to his sister to hide from the police.
“Jain was caught trying to enter houses as his sister was inside” tonk (Rajasthan) for a family function,” quota city police superintendent kesari Singh Shekhawati told PTI.
He said that he is being brought back to Kota.
Police said a case has been registered against Jain under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code on the report filed by the minor’s family members.
He said that it was suspected that the accused might have committed suicide fearing to be caught, the Chambal river and canals were also searched around Kota by the divers of Kota Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Kota Range Ravi Dutt Gaur A reward of Rs 10,000 was announced for the arrest of the accused, while some other coaching institutes in the city had announced a cash reward of over Rs 4 lakh for providing information leading to Jain’s arrest.
The police had said that the accused tutor had been tutoring the girl for three years and they were neighbors.
The girl was gasping for breath inside Jain’s house with her neck tied and hands tied. He was taken to the hospital but was declared brought dead, they said.
Police said the victim was the only student at Jain’s house on the day of the incident.
After the girl’s death, locals called for the closure of shops and they gathered outside the police station in large numbers.
