The Rajasthan government on Sunday announced new restrictions in the state in the light of rising COVID-19 cases. All private and government schools will remain closed in Jaipur from January 3 to January 9. “Other district collectors may take a decision as per the requirement in consultation with the education department,” the official release said.

The state government has also made complete vaccination of all eligible population in the state mandatory. “It is observed that those who are fully vaccinated, who are infected with the new Omron variant of COVID-19, do not require hospitalization,” the release said.

Those entering the state after international travel will have to undergo an RT-PCR test, and will have to be in home quarantine/isolation for 7 days until their report comes back negative.

Those entering the state through domestic means of transport, trains or flights will have to submit an RTPCR negative report, not older than 72 hours, and a complete vaccination certificate.

Those who are getting married can invite only 100 people and they will have to inform the details of the marriage to the government on helpline number 181.

Schools from classes one to eight have been closed in Jaipur. In other districts, parents who do not wish to send their children to offline classes later will not be compelled to do so.
