Ten-man Atletico Madrid beat Celto Viga 1-0 in LaLiga on Sunday, with second-half substitute Memphis Depay opening his account for the club following his January move with a late winner.
With both teams looking for the most likely result after missing chances, Depay was in the right place at the right time when a blocked shot fell at his feet before the Dutch forward turned and slotted home to score in the 89th minute. Only fired.

Atlético went close in the first half with Álvaro Morata as his close-range header missed the top corner, while at the other end, Gabriel Veiga had a header from a corner kick fly wide.
Iago Aspas almost opened the scoring in the second half when his shot from a Celta counter-attack under Jan Oblak was about to creep over the goal line before finding the goalkeeper.
Atlético were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when last man Stefan Savic brought down Celta forward Haris Seferovic to the ground on the edge of the box as he was going through on goal.
It was Savic’s third red card in five appearances for Atlético but Diego Simeone’s men were relieved when Aspas’ free-kick came in clear of the crossbar.
The result moved fourth-placed Atlético to within one point of Real Sociedad, who play Espanyol on Monday, on 38 points. Celta is at the 13th position with 23 points.
