Power, Prohibition and Excise Minister V. Senthilbalaji on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a high level bridge over Noyyal in Vellore here.

The ₹4.4 crore project will be completed in a year.

According to officials, the bridge on the Singanallur-Podanoor road will be of three spans and will be 12.9 meters wide. The 53.8 meter long bridge will benefit the people of Vellore, Singanallur, Podanur, Sulur, Pattanampudur, Idyarpalayam and Kanjikonampalayam.
