Lakhimpur Kheri Violence | SIT takes away Union minister’s son, 3 others to recreate sequence of events

The four accused were taken to the site of the incident on Tikonia-Banbirpur road amid tight security.

SIT is probing Lakhimpur Kheri violence On Thursday, Union minister Ajay Mishra’s son and three others arrested in the case were taken to recreate the sequence of events in Uttar Pradesh’s Tikoniya village.

Amid tight security, the four accused were taken to the spot on the Tikonia-Banbirpur road, about 60 km from the district headquarters of Lakhimpur city, police said.

Eight people were killed in the violence on October 3 and four of them were farmers, who were allegedly hit by a vehicle carrying BJP workers. The other dead include two BJP workers and their driver. A journalist was also killed in this incident.

The farmers claimed that Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra was in one of the vehicles, with him and his father denying the allegation that they could produce evidence to prove that he was at an event at the time .

Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’ was arrested After 12 hours of questioning in the case on 9 October, and a court from 12 October to 15 October has accepted his police custody.

the other three – Shekhar Bharti was arrested on 12 October, and Ankit Das and Latif alias Kale were arrested on 13 October.

Das, Latif and Bharti are in police custody from October 14 to October 17.

On Thursday, investigators reached the district prison premises in the morning to take Das, Latif and Bharti into police custody.

The trio were taken to the Reserve Police Lines at the crime branch’s office, which is near the district jail where prime accused Ashish Mishra is lodged.

Police said they were taken to Tikoniya village by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) amid tight security for further investigation.
