Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal, who installed Mumbai’s most famous Lord Ganpati idol, shared the first look of Bappa on Monday evening. After a gap of two years, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated without any restrictions and the city is expected to see huge crowds during the festivities to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2022 will be celebrated on Wednesday 31st August, which will have a grand event in Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal. Ahead of the 10-day festival, the organizers took to Instagram to share the live streaming details of the Lalbaugcha Raja 2022 first look, which was shared with devotees on Monday, August 29.

Lalbaugcha Raja Mandal has been installing the idol of Ganpati in its pandal in central Mumbai since 1934. The unveiling of Lord Ganesha’s idol was live-streamed on YouTube. Huge crowd gathered to watch the unveiling of the statue.

Devotees also shared pictures of Lord Ganesha idols on social media and they quickly went viral.

Lalbaugcha Raja has been enshrined in the temple this year. A grand Ram Mandir set has been built. The set has been created by renowned art director Nitin Sardesai. This set has been made 36 feet high and 36 feet wide. It has beautiful carvings. Trees have also been planted.

The idol of Lalbaugcha Raja is 14 feet and the total height of the idol holding the throne is 21 feet. This year Lalbaugcha Raja is celebrating 89th Ganesh Chaturthi. The idol is made from POP. It takes one and a half months to make the idol. The eyes of the idol are very attractive. Santosh Kambli has sculpted the Lalbaugcha Raja idol.

Lalbaugcha Raja will now stay in this pandal in Mumbai for 11 days. Devotees not only from Mumbai but from all over the country come here to pray to God. It is believed that whoever comes to pay obeisance at the feet of Lalbaugcha Raja, never goes back empty handed. This is the reason why devotees come here every year to see Bappa.

Facilities are provided to the devotees for the darshan of Lalbaugcha Raja. Different queues have been set up this year as well. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also visit Mumbai on September 5 to offer prayers to Lalbaugcha Raja.
