Lamborghini Urus S launched in India, priced at Rs 4.18 crore; see photos

Lamborghini has launched the Urus S in India with prices starting from Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom). The performance SUV from the Italian marquee takes forward the legacy of the company’s best-selling model. However, the model’s genes are carried forward with some luxury-oriented developments. The Urus will be the second model to carry the S name and replace the previous version. However, with its specifications, the model sits below the Urus Performante. The Urus S made its global debut last year.

The Lamborghini Urus S has its own personality with some cosmetic changes compared to the Performante line. Changes include a new bumper, a new bonnet with cooling vents, and parts like a slightly revised bumper. The SUV also shows similarities with the Performante with exposed carbon fiber elements on the bonnet and roofline. However, they can be used as a substitute.

The layout of the interiors of the Lamborghini Urus S is similar to that of the Performante. However, instead of using black Alcantara to cover the elements, the Urus S uses leather. Consumers who prefer Alcantara have the option of customization. Since the model is customization-oriented, there will be a wide variety of options in the material. The Italian brand also offers Bi-Colour Sportivo and Bi-Colour Refined options featuring the cabin’s new Urus Performant stitching pattern. In addition, black leather trim has been offered along with tan, cream and brown along with contrasting color options like Blue Leandro and Verde Aura.

The Lamborghini Urus S draws power from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is the same as the Urus Performante. The engine churns out 666 hp of power along with 850 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels using an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This enables the SUV to go from 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds.

All this, coupled with a new suspension set-up, allows the powertrain to have three off-road modes, namely Sabbia, Nave and Terra, which in other words is Sand, Snow and Mud respectively. In addition to this, the SUV also gets Strada, Sport and Corsa modes that can tweak the power output of the car.
