Land for job scam: Yadav family again present, Chanda Yadav appears before ED

The ED had questioned Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Monday in this matter.

trouble seems to be brewing for Lalu Prasad YadavThe Enforcement Directorate on Thursday summoned Chanda Yadav, the third daughter of former Bihar chief minister, for questioning in an alleged land job scam case.

This comes hours after the probe agency recorded the statement of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Ragini Yadav. Ragini Yadav was produced before the agency for questioning and her account was registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Reportedly, the agency had raided the premises of Ragini Yadav, her sisters Chanda Yadav and Hema Yadav, and former RJD MLA Abu Dojana in Patna, Phulwarisharif, Delhi-NCR, Ranchi and Mumbai in March this year. The then railway minister and his family were involved in a scam in which he demanded land in exchange for a government job.

On Monday, the ED recorded the statement of Ragini Yadav’s brother and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, in this matter.

Meanwhile, the Yadav family, including daughter Misa Bharti and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, denied all allegations against him and said it was a political ploy by the BJP to suppress opposition voices.

As per reports, the probe agency said it seized “unaccounted cash” of Rs 1 crore and traced it to proceeds of crime 600 crores during the search. It said investigations are being carried out to ascertain the investments made by Prasad’s family and their associates at various places in various sectors including real estate.
