Last year 4.02 lakh houses were completed in seven big cities of the country: Report

In the year 2022, maximum 1.26 lakh units have been completed in the areas of Mumbai.

Indian Real Estate Industry: Real estate mortgagees have completed the construction of more than four lakh houses in seven major cities of the country in 2022, speeding up the pace of construction of houses after the COVID-19 pandemic. Property Advisor (Property Consultant) firm Anarock (Anarock) has said that in 2022, the construction work of 4.02 lakh houses in seven major consumers of the country was completed, which is much higher than the figure of 2.79 lakh houses in 2021. However, the pace of construction of houses was severely affected in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID pandemic. Anarock has bank issued residential properties (residential properties) built in the cities of Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

According to the data, the maximum number of 1.26 lakh units of houses to be built in the year 2022 were in the Mumbai region. In the year 2021, only 70,500 houses were completed in Mumbai. Whereas in the Delhi-NCR region, 86,300 houses were completed last year, which is marginally lower than 86,590 in 2021. There are 84,200 units built immediately, while Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai collectively have 81,580 residential units built. This slot in Kolkata is of 23,190 units.

Anuj Puri, Account, Anarock, said, “The year 2022 has been spectacular for India’s real estate sector with sales surpassing the 2014 high. To meet this demand, the developer’s focus is on construction of homes to be completed soon.” He said that more than 5.44 lakh homes are expected to be constructed in 2023 as well. Of these, maximum 1,66,850 houses are likely to be constructed in the Delhi-NCR regions. Apart from this, 1.33 lakh houses can be completed in Mumbai region.
