Mangeshkar, who dominated Bollywood music for more than half a century, and is considered by many to be the greatest playback singer of the Indian film industry, died on Sunday morning at the age of 92.

He died in a Mumbai hospital several weeks ago after being admitted to its intensive care unit with Covid-19 symptoms.

His body was publicly cremated at a Mumbai park on Sunday evening and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others laid flowers on his pyre.
