Rajasthan Royals have dethroned Chennai Super Kings at the top of the IPL 2023 points table after their fifth win of the season
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Adam Zampa and Ravichandran Ashwin were the stars in Rajasthan Royals’ 200th match as they defeated Chennai Super Kings for the second time in IPL 2023.
There was no last-over thriller like Chepauk when a certain MS Dhoni had everyone on edge with his big hit. RR didn’t leave it late as their spinners put brakes on the scoring rate which CSK couldn’t recover from as Shivam Dube hit his third consecutive fifty.
Chasing 203, CSK finished on 170/6 and RR completed a 32-run victory – their fifth of the season.

With this win, Rajasthan has 10 points from eight matches. Thanks to his improved net run-rate of 0.939, he has wrested the top spot from CSK who have slipped to the third spot and are now behind Gujarat Titans. The three teams now have 10 points each and are separated in the standings on the basis of NRR.
GT though could go clear at the top as they have played fewer games than RR and CSK, both of whom have played eight matches so far.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain and opening batsman Faf du Plessis has maintained his strong hold on the top spot in the list of highest run-getters of the season so far. He has 422 runs in eight innings and the next best in the list is his RCB partner Virat Kohli Who also has 333 runs in eight innings.

CSK opener Devon Conway is third on the list with 322 runs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has re-entered the top five after scoring a quickfire 47 against RR. He is currently at the fourth position and is followed by David Warner of Delhi Capitals.

Three bowlers have now taken 14 wickets each to occupy the top-three spots in the race for the Purple Cap. A better economy rate than GT’s Rashid Khan and CSK’s Tushar Deshpande saw Mohammad Siraj retain the top spot.

Deshpande moved into the top three after taking two wickets against RR in Jaipur. Varun Chakraborty and Arshdeep Singh are among the top five with 13-13 wickets.
