Neeraj Chopra in Lausanne Diamond League 2024 Live: Neeraj Chopra saved his best for the last and threw 89.49m in his sixth and final attempt to finish second in the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday. This is Neeraj’s season best throw, surpassing the 89.45m attempt at the Paris Olympics 2024. This is also his second-best throw ever. His best throw is 89.94m, achieved at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2022. His earlier throws at the Lausanne Diamond League On Friday were 82.10m, 83.21m, 83.13m, 82.34m, 85.58m. Grenada’s Anderson Peters came up with a Meet Record and his Season Best of 90.61m to finish first. Germany’s Julian Weber finished third with a best throw of 87.08m.

This season’s Diamond League finals will be held in Brussels on September 14. He needs to finish in the top-six of the Diamond League meetings series standings to qualify for the season finale. There is another meet just a few hours drive from Lausanne in Zurich on September 5 — which has men’s javelin throw event in its roster. Neeraj is currently at fourth spot with seven points after finishing second behind Vadlejch in the Doha Diamond League on May 10.

A groin injury has prevented Neeraj Chopra in giving his absolute best. He admitted that during the Olympics. He has now taken extra care so that its is not aggravated during the Diamond League. “I came to Switzerland for training ahead of the Diamond League. Luckily, I did not aggravate my injury as I took extra care of that,” he said.
“I thought of continuing my season like most other athletes. There is one month to go until the season ends. I will go to the doctors in my free time,” he had said last week.
