Noida: A lawyer was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday.
Officials said that the incident took place on Monday night and the deceased lawyer has been identified as Nishant, a resident of Elahbas village, who is around 30 years old.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Harish Chander said officials of the local Phase 2 police station were alerted that the lawyer was admitted to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
“As revealed during preliminary investigation, he died of gunshot wounds,” Chander said.
He said the police have contacted the family of the deceased and visited the spot for investigation.
“During the initial investigation, it emerged that Nishant had a property dispute with some relatives for a long time. Her sister also had a dispute with her in-laws. These two angles are being investigated in detail,” the DCP said.
He said an FIR has been registered and four police teams have been formed to solve the matter.
