Gurgaon: Less than 1,500 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in the city for the third consecutive day on Monday. 1,155 new ones have been added in the last 24 hours covid Its cases declined by about 9% compared to Sunday’s 1,267 cases. However, two patients died on Monday.

Of the two patients who died on Monday, a 68-year-old man was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The fully vaccinated man was admitted to the hospital on January 29 with shortness of breath and was put on ventilator and vasopressor support. He was found COVID-positive in the hospital and suffered a heart attack on Monday.
The second patient, a 45-year-old man who was fully vaccinated, had high blood pressure. He was admitted to the hospital on January 29 after a stroke and fell unconscious. The patient was given IV fluids, antibiotics, ventilator support and other supportive measures. He too tested positive and had a cardiac arrest on Monday.
In the last 22 days, 35 Kovid deaths have been reported in the city. Gurgaon has reported 962 Covid deaths since the start of the pandemic. In these cases, 644 patients had comorbidities.
chief Medical Officer Virendra Yadav Said that although new cases are expected to drop further, more people are likely to die in the city in a few more days. “The city may witness a few more Covid-related deaths in the coming days. Some people admitted to hospitals are on ventilators. Doctors are trying to ensure fewer deaths. Gurgaon still has the lowest death rate in the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, Haryana on Monday reported 3,563 new cases with a test positivity rate of 13.4%. While Gurgaon reported the highest number of new cases across the state, Hisar 273, followed by Faridabad (219), Sonipat (181) and Kurukshetra: (169). At present, there are 25,567 active patients in the state, out of which 24,265 are in home isolation.
