Life has come full circle for Sachin Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium

For master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, life has come a full circle at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium as a life-size statue is set to be installed in his honor soon.

Wankhede is where the legendary cricketer started his career under childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar and it was at this venue that he won the World Cup with India in 2011.

In addition, the cricket ground also witnessed the icon’s historic 200th Test against the West Indies in 2013. As per details, the statue is expected to be unveiled on April 24 when he turns 50.

Tendulkar said, “I started my cricketing journey representing Mumbai. Winning the World Cup in 2011 is the biggest moment of my life. My last match representing India was very memorable and it happened in Mumbai as well. “

“Life has come a full circle for me at the Wankhede, which has been witness to some very special moments. I was pleasantly surprised when the Mumbai Cricket Association suggested my statue at the Wankhede,” Tendulkar said.

“I have always taken immense pride in representing Mumbai Cricket and my wonderful association with MCA continues to this day. I am extremely grateful to them for the kind treatment,” he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mumbai Cricket Association President Amol Kale made this announcement on the sidelines of Tendulkar’s Wankhede tour.

Already, the cricket legend has a stand named after him at Wankhede and a wax statue of him at Madame Tussauds in London.
