Life insurers reported first year premium for June at ₹36,961.73 crore increased 18.26% from the year earlier period. The performance came on the back of market leader Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) clocking a nearly 21% increase in the new business for the month to ₹24,970.82 crore. The first-year premium of private life insurers at ₹11,990.91 crore was an increase of 13.01%, according to the new business statement released by insurance regulator IRDAI on Tuesday.
