Light rain forecast in Delhi-NCR, AQI in severe category

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that light to moderate rain has been predicted in Delhi-NCR during the next two hours.

The National Weather Forecasting Agency has also predicted rain with light to moderate intensity at Rewari in Haryana and Kithore in Uttar Pradesh.

In a tweet posted at 11.10 pm, the National Weather Forecasting Agency said, “Thundershowers with light to moderate intensity will occur in and around Rewari (Haryana) Kithor (UP). Rain will occur in and around Delhi, NCR (Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ballabgarh) Karnal, Panipat, Sohana, Palwal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana) Garhmukteshwar, Hapur, Gulati, Sayana, Secunderabad, Bulandshahr, Jahangirabad, Shikarpur , Khurja (U.P.) Khairthal (Rajasthan) during the next 2 hours.”

Light rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Sunday evening.

Data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) showed that Delhi (overall) recorded an air quality index in the severe category early Monday with an AQI of 433 at 1 am.

The AQI in Gurugram was 347 while in Noida it was 480.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
