“Like Dinosaur Museum”: Anand Mahindra Shares Video Of Decades Old Household Items

Industrialist Anand Mahindra is quite popular on social media and keeps entertaining his fans and followers with interesting and motivational videos. This time, he posted a video featuring home accessories that were highly popular a few decades back but have since been superseded by newer models. Images of objects including cassette tapes, lanterns, old scooter models and even soap were featured in the clip. The clip inspired nostalgia among people belonging to that generation.

Sharing the clip, Mr. Mahindra wrote, “What a great trip down memory lane! Wondering if anyone has collected these actual physical items and displayed them in a museum? I think GenZ would love to see them.” Will enjoy… a dinosaur museum of sorts.” An antique landline phone, a scooter, an iron and several different types of lanterns can be seen in the video. It also has an old alarm clock, an old torchlight, a kerosene burner and a container. Along with a tape recorder, typewriter and transistor radio, there are also cassettes in the video. The song ‘Gujra Hua Zamana’ from Lata Mangeshkar’s 1958 film Shireen Farhad plays throughout the clip.

Interestingly, the cover of Filmfare magazine also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Madhubala and other celebrities. It also featured young Jackie Shroff and Panama in cigarette advertisements for brands such as Charminar. It displays old advertisements for products including Eveready Battery, Pond’s Talcum Powder, Colgate Tooth Powder, Dalda Vanaspati and the Ambassador DTS 175 motorcycle.

Since being shared, the video has garnered nearly 5.4 lakh views and over nine thousand likes. One user said, “Life’s journey will be incomplete without reverse gear.”

Another user said, “Best memories. Those were the best days with least technology, but more comfortable. But now with more worries, higher knowledge. Chal Dev. Chalti ka naam zindagi.”
