Hyderabad: State Public Health Director Dr G Srinivasa Rao told reporters on Thursday that health teams in Telangana will now conduct random checking of COVID vaccination certificates in public places. Vaccination status of Telangana

Srinivasa Rao said that out of about 3.5 crore population of the state, more than 90 per cent have been vaccinated from the first dose. However, only 47 percent have received a second dose.

The Director of Public Health said that this is a matter of concern. “There are about 25 lakh people in the state who are well ahead of the due date for the second dose but are not getting vaccinated,” he said, adding that 15 lakh people are in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). ) Seema, “where awareness and literacy are far better than in rural areas”.
