‘Lokme Tharavadu’ art exhibition extended till November 30

A contemporary art exhibition ‘Lokme Theravadu’, organized by the Kochi Biennale Foundation at the venues of the Alappuzha Heritage Project and in Kochi, has been extended till November 30.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Tourism Minister PA Mohammad Rias said that the exhibition will help revive the art scene battling the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Mr Riyas said that the decision to expand the exhibition was taken keeping in view the public opinion. The Minister said that the exhibition ‘Lokme Tharvadu’ gives confidence to the artists and the public in difficult times.

The art show was first inaugurated on April 18, but had to be called off in May due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. It was reopened to the public on 14 August and was to end on 30 September.

The show showcases the works of 267 artists, including 56 women, who trace their origins to Kerala.
