London man pours blood in supermarket food, video presented in court

Elgharieb’s defense team claimed that the lawyer was insane at the time of the incident.

A London court is hearing a bizarre case of a man injecting his own blood into food products stocked in at least three supermarkets in west London. The man, Leoi Elghrib, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of contaminating or interfering with goods with the intention of a series of events that occurred in August last year.

In the latest update from the hearing, CCTV footage presented at Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday shows Elghrib entering the Tesco Express, Little Waitrose and Sainsbury’s locales on Fulham Palace Road in west London carrying a bucket of hypodermic needles.

The footage is done by almost every major British media outlet, on August 25 last year, in the ready-to-eat section of stores with a syringe – containing packets of apple, chicken tikka fillets – showed the 37-year-old jabbing food. Then he went to another part of the shop with a second syringe between his teeth.

Elghrib was seen entering nearby Tesco and Little Waitrose stores before police arrived at the scene. According to the time stamp of the CCTV footage, the incident took place between 7 pm and 8 pm.

Elghrib is a Practicing Solicitor who runs his own Legal Consulting business.

Supermarkets lost £500,000 because they had to throw away all products as an anti-contamination measure.

The shops also asked all the customers present at that time to leave their belongings and vacate the premises.

A total of 21 syringes were recovered after the incident.

Elghrib has also been charged with pushing a security guard in a store and throwing a needle at a doctor. But his defense team has also denied both these allegations.

Elghrib’s defense has claimed that the lawyer was insane at the time of the incident. A consultant forensic psychiatrist, Dr Bradley Hillier, who appeared before the court, said that Elgharieb was “severely psychotic” at the time of the incident, and unable to see his actions was “legally and morally wrong”. Dr Hillier said that the Elghrib told him that he was burdened and tortured, according to To express,

The jurors are now set to decide whether Elghrib was insane at the time of the events. The matter is expected to be completed this week.
