Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in an on-field brawl with Liverpool players during their Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday. The incident happened during the injury halt in the first half when Liverpool had already scored three goals. The video of the same is now going viral on the internet, with most of the Liverpool fans claiming that Ronaldo should have been given a red card for the incident.

The clip begins with Bruno Fernandes delivering the ball to his national teammate. However, timely intervention from Liverpool goalkeeper Alison Baker meant that CR7 was not able to collect the ball. After losing the ball, Ronaldo ran to the corner to pick it up but not in front of Curtis Jones. Ronaldo fights with Jones for the ball on the right wing and is later seen kicking the ball into his stomach and hitting him. And, soon enough, the Liverpool player and Ronaldo were seen in a scuffle.
Ronaldo was given a yellow card by referee Anthony Taylor for the incident, with many claiming that he deserved a red card. After the match, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also echoed these sentiments, saying it looked like a red card to him.
“To me, it seemed [a red card], but in the end, I was told that [Ronaldo] Didn’t hear the ball hit or whistle or whatever,” Klopp said when asked about the incident.
Meanwhile, The Reds consolidated their place in the top two of the Premier League table after beating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United 5-0 on Sunday. Liverpool’s Misri scored a hat-trick and was also involved in an assist. The pair of Nabi Kesta and Diogo Joto also scored a goal each.
Liverpool next take on Preston in the EFL Cup round of 16 on Thursday, 28 October.
