look | NASA Posts a View of 22 Black Holes in the Milky Way, the Large Magellanic Cloud

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shared views of 22 mysterious objects in our Milky Way galaxy and its nearest neighbor, the Large Magellanic Cloud.

american space agency Have been studying the evolution of galaxies for a long time and tried to connect it in detail with these unique mysterious objects.

NASA shared a view of 22 X-ray binary systems hosting confirmed black holes on the same scale, with their orbits increasing nearly 22,000 times.

video was captured from NASAGoddard Space Flight Center and Scientific Visualization Studio.

Black holes, the dark abyss found at the center of every galaxy with such a strong gravity, have fascinated astronomers around the world. Stars born with a mass greater than 20 times that of the Sun collapse to form black holes.

Describing the view, NASA noted that the view of each system reflects how we see it from Earth.

Star colors ranging from blue-white to red represent temperatures ranging from 5 times hotter to 45% cooler than our Sun. In most of these systems, a stream of matter from the star forms an accretion disk around the black hole. In others, like the well-known system called Cygnus X-1, the star generates a massive outflow that is partially blown away by the black hole’s gravity to form the disk. The accretion discs use a different color scheme because they sport higher temperatures than stars.

Largest disc shown, belongs to a binary called GRS 1915, which spans a distance greater than separating Mercury from our Sun. Black holes are shown to be larger than reality by using spheres scaled to reflect their mass.

What are Black Holes?

The death of a star with such a high gravitational field results in the formation of a black hole, which traps the light of the dead star in the small space beneath it. Gravity is so strong because of matter being squeezed into a small space. Since no light can pass through, people cannot see a black hole. They are invisible.

The graphical visualization released by NASA shows black holes on a scale reflecting their mass, all shown to be much larger than in reality.
