Setting the tone and mood for the festival of lights – Diwali, Virat Kohli gifted the best to cricket lovers across the globe as his sensational knock helped India beat Pakistan in the Super 12 match of the 2020 T20I World Cup .
After scoring an unbeaten 82 off just 53 balls, though teammates and cricket fans were reveling in the memorable innings, Kohli was in tears and thanked the almighty, who not only kept calm during the match and Supported him to stay calm, but hit crucial six fours and six sixes.
Asked how he felt after the match, Kohli said. “It’s a surreal atmosphere. I honestly don’t have words. I don’t know how it happened.” He also won the player of the match award for his dynamic innings.

He also considered his innings best under pressure. But, it continued to say that the tournament has just begun.
With Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, opener KL Rahul and power hitter Suryakumar Yadav walking into the MCG pavilion in the opening overs, Kohli shared a 113-run partnership with Pandya – who scored 40 runs – to put India on a winning streak.
Earlier, Pakistan also lost their early wickets but Shan Masood and Iftikar Ahmed helped their team to reach 159 in 20 overs to maintain the momentum. India’s Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took three wickets each. Mohammed Shami also took two and B Kumar took one wicket.

Talking to reporters, the Indian skipper also took a jibe at Kohli, saying that Kohli has returned to his form and it is a good news for India. With Kohli at the crease, he still believed that India could win the match.
“The position we were in has to be one of India’s best innings, not just their best,” he added.
