The ritual in Southall began with the consecration of a hand-built and decorated chariot by Jagannath devotees in the UK, after which the idols were brought to their thrones and decorated. In a ceremonial hill journey, the idols were carried to their chariots and carried out a ceremonial cleaning before being pulled through Southhall, with cymbals blowing and conch shells being blown between the slogans of “Hari Bol” and Gundicha Temple. was taken to a room acting as Where the deities will reside for nine days.
