“It was always a desire to show the true value of the University as the soul of this institution is sacred. Everyone at LU felt that we had the strength for greater recognition and therefore worked hard to improve every little aspect As a result, LU is now a nationally recognized institution,” Rai said.

He expressed his gratitude to Governor Anandiben Patel, who advised LU to have a separate charge for each NAAC parameter, and to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his continued support.

“We are also grateful to the officials of the Higher Education Department who extended all possible help to us,” he said.

Rai said that only 26.4% assessment was based on campus inspection by NAAC team, while the rest assessment was based on data verification which was completely document based and highly transparent.

“We have taken our best strides forward and have supporting records, evidence and documents for every academic information, achievement and claim made,” he said.

“We have received special appreciation for being a pioneer in the adoption of NEP, wherein NAAC has termed our NEP implementation as world class,” the VC said.

He said that A++ grade would enable us to run various government grants and schemes and various courses.

“Also, our students will be benefited in a big way as all major national and multinational companies come for campus placements only in grades of NAAC A or above. We won’t have to run after companies for placements, but their HR will approach us.”

Earlier LU had performed poorly due to outdated curriculum, best practices on campus and poor infrastructure. LU improved on each NAAC parameter as it strengthened its research, introduced various student and teacher centric scholarship and research incentive schemes, promoted use of information and communication technology, launched teachers’ recruitment drive, student placement cell established and much more.
