Liquor contractors who had gathered for a meeting at a marriage palace on the outskirts of Ludhiana on Saturday announced the boycott decision.
Terming the new excise policy as harsh, the contractors have threatened to move the high court against it and have also decided not to participate in the state government’s pre-bid meeting for liquor retail clusters to be held in Chandigarh tomorrow.
The contractors have also accused the AAP government of making such a policy which will benefit the selected liquor traders who according to them are close to you.
The contractors also alleged that the AAP government has increased the license fee for liquor clusters from Rs 7-8 crore per group to around Rs 30-35 crore and destroyed the entire liquor business with such a huge percentage increase. will be given. It is impossible for any liquor contractor to pay such a hefty amount.
Some of the prominent liquor contractors who attended the meeting included KD Khosla, Anil Mahajan, Bhagwant Dayal, Inderpal Chintu, Darshan Singh and Yash Pal.
