Macquarie Group hires top Australian dealmaker from Credit Suisse

Macquarie Group has hired Draghi Ristevski, a top Australian dealmaker from Credit Suisse, according to a memo from the bank.

Ristevski has been Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets at Credit Suisse. The memorandum said he would join Macquarie as head of the investment bank for financial sponsors for Asia Pacific.

A spokesperson for Macquarie confirmed the contents of the memo.

Ristevski joined Credit Suisse in 2021 after spending 11 years at Citigroup, where he earned a reputation as one of Australia’s top private equity investment bankers.

He hired several senior bankers at Credit Suisse in an effort to compete more aggressively with bulge bracket firms in Australia.

In the memo, Tim Joyce, executive director of Macquarie Capital, said Ristevski had advised high-profile clients such as Bain, Pep, KKR, Quadrant and TPG on acquisition deals in the sector.
