Thane: Police have arrested a person for abetting a 21-year-old man to commit suicide in Bhiwandi town of Thane district of Maharashtra. An official gave this information on Friday.
Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Suryavanshi said that Vijay Yadav (45), a resident of Nagaon, was arrested on Thursday under IPC section 306 (abetment to suicide) and other related provisions.
He said that the accused was protesting against the victim Laxman alias Parshya talking to his daughter.
Though the victim stopped talking to the accused’s daughter, Yadav assaulted her and threatened to kill her, the official said.
The victim consumed poison on March 26 and died during treatment at the hospital on April 9.
