Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar at Breach Candy Hospital here on Friday. Pawar is undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past few days.
“The chief minister met Pawar to inquire about his health,” an official in the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Pawar participated in the ongoing NCP meeting in Shirdi through video conferencing from the hospital earlier in the day.
Shinde rebelled against Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in June this year, resulting in the collapse of the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government in the state.
Shinde had cited opposition to Shiv Sena’s alliance with the NCP and Congress as the main reason for the rebellion against the party’s leadership.
