State Minister Amit Deshmukh on Tuesday said the Maharashtra government has looked into the fee structure for medical education in Ukraine and Russia and directed officials to see whether such facilities can be provided to students in the state.

The state’s medical education minister told reporters here that the state government would study the reasons for students traveling abroad for education. “The government has taken note of the fees for medical education in Russia and Ukraine. We will study the reasons why these students are going abroad,” Deshmukh said.

He said that some work needs to be done to ensure that students planning to go abroad get the facilities here, adding that the central and state governments can work together on this.

In a meeting organized for the digital membership drive of the Congress, Deshmukh said, “The work done by an aspiring candidate for digital membership will also matter now. Party forms will have a separate column for this.” Congress MLA Pranati Shinde said the digital membership drive would recognize party workers.
