Three more Shiv Sena MLAs reached Guwahati on Thursday morning as disgruntled Maharashtra MLAs camped in a hotel, which now stands at 47

According to AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the disgruntled MLAs from Maharashtra had scheduled their visit with Ambubachi during their visit to Guwahati.

Former Chief Minister Shri Sonowal is visiting the flood affected areas of Assam.

“Lakhs of people are visiting Kamakhya every year during Ambubachi starting from Wednesday (June 22). They include ministers and MLAs from all over India,” he said.

‘Don’t politicize his visit’

“The MLAs from Maharashtra have also come forward from Ambubachi. One should not politicize his visit just for the sake of it,” Mr Sonowal said after four more Independent MLAs reached Guwahati on Wednesday night.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also got a divine connection with a crowd of Maharashtra MLAs led by Shiv Sena minister Eknath Shinde at a luxury hotel in Guwahati.

‘Bring Goddess Lakshmi along’

“They have brought Goddess Lakshmi with them. It is difficult for hotels to find customers during floods in Assam and Maharashtra legislators are ensuring income for hotels, helping the Assam government earn some tax revenue.

The hotel where most of the Shiv Sena MLAs from Maharashtra are staying has almost turned into a fort. Barring senior BJP leaders and some prominent businessmen and businessmen in Assam, no one is allowed in or out by the security forces guarding the hotel.

Three Shiv Sena MLAs were also among those escorted to the hotel, who had reached Guwahati on Thursday morning by flight. A total of 47 MLAs from Maharashtra are now camping in Guwahati.
