Maharashtra police stopped from conducting mock drill of ‘terrorists’

Mumbai:

The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, in a remedial order, has restrained the police from conducting mock drills in which police personnel in surveillance roles are shown to belong to a particular community. Police conduct mock drills to attest their preparedness to deal with a variety of assignments including terrorist attacks.

The high court was hearing a PIL filed by social activist Syed Usama alleging that the mock drills being conducted by the police department wore costumes and shouted slogans to show that the terrorists were Muslims.
