The Maharashtra government on Saturday imposed prohibitory orders in violence-hit Amravati city during the Bharatiya Janata Party-sponsored ‘bandh’ (bandh).

“I am closely monitoring the whole situation with the help of senior police officers and holding discussions with senior opposition leaders. Not all guilty will be spared. We all should maintain social harmony and I would like to cooperate with us all.” I request my police brothers also to handle the situation carefully and maintain peace,” Walse-Patil said on Saturday.
