Mahashivratri celebrated with pomp in Visakhapatnam

On Tuesday, Mahashivratri was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety in various organizations and various temples of Lord Shiva in the city.

86 th Shiva Jayanti was organized by the Murlinagar branch of Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya in Murlinagar. The special events were being organized from February 27 and will continue till March 2.

An exhibition has also been put up to make the general public understand the importance of the occasion. Cultural programs were also organized on the occasion and 1,008 diyas were lit.

The Shantipuram branch of the Brahma Kumaris organized bhajans at Akkayyapalem. The speakers explained the importance of the occasion to the audience.

Maha Kumbhbhishek

37 th Maha Kumbhabhishek was organized by T. Subbarami Reddy Seva Peetham at RK Beach. A huge Shiva linga was constructed on the beach with one crore small Shivlings. The seers of Visakha Sharada Peetham, Swaroopanandendra Swami and Swatvanandendra Swami performed the puja. Former Union Minister T. Subbarami Reddy performed the abhishekam of the lingam.

A large number of people came from different places of the city and district to attend the festival. Some organizations distributed prasad to devotees at Ramakrishna Beach and elsewhere.

On this occasion special pujas were organized at Sri Sathya Sai Prem Sadan Temple of MVP Colony from different branches of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, Visakhapatnam city and district.
