Mahindra Treo Electric Three-Wheeler Launched in Maharashtra, Priced at Rs. 2.09 lakh

Mahindra Treo electric three-wheeler auto rickshaw has been launched in Maharashtra. After FAME-II, state and early-bird subsidies, customers on Treo will get Rs. 2.09 lakh in the state (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Mahindra Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle (EV) arm of the Mahindra Group, has launched the Treo electric three-wheeler auto-rickshaw in Maharashtra. After FAME-II, state and early-bird subsidies, Mahindra Treo will be priced at ₹ 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) to customers in the state. Based on L5 auto sales between April and October 2021, Treo has a segment-leading market share of 67 percent in the electric auto category. Mahindra claims that compared to a regular CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, the Treo can offer savings of up to ₹2 lakh over a period of 5 years, thanks to its lower running cost of 50 paise per kilometer.

The Treo can offer a range of up to 130km on a single charge, and the battery pack can be fully charged in 3 hours 50 minutes using the 16A plug point.

The Mahindra Treo electric auto comes with an IP65-rated lithium-ion battery pack that powers the electric motor to generate 8 kW or 10.7 bhp and 42 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle can offer a range of up to 130km on a single charge, and the battery pack can be fully charged in 3 hours 50 minutes using 16A plug points.

Mahindra is also offering a warranty of 5 years or 1,50,000 kms on the battery pack. It comes with a direct drive transmission, which means it offers gearless, clutch-less driving. Also, the company’s NEMO mobility platform helps in remote monitoring of vehicle range, geo-fence, track speed, location and more. Mahindra has so far launched more than 13,000 electric three-wheelers in India.
