Mahindra And Mahindra has confirmed its plans to launch the fully electric Mahindra XUV300 in the first quarter of 2023.
Mahindra also confirmed that it will reveal three of its electric concepts known as the ‘Born EV’ range on 15 August 2022. Expected to launch in 2025, more details about the electric model will be revealed from July.
The upcoming XUV300 electric SUV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, apart from this Mahindra also showcased the electric KUV at the same event.
An interesting fact here is that the electric version of the XUV 300 will not be a sub-four meter vehicle as it has a length of 4.2 metres. According to our sources, Mahindra may bring the body structure of the taller SsangYong Tivoli on which the XUV300 is based. This, directly indicates that the car will not be eligible for the many incentives or pocket-friendly pricing that are usually reserved only for electric vehicles under four meters in India.

The electric version of the XUV 300 has been spotted several times during testing on Indian roads. Based on the e-XUV300 that was showcased at the Auto Expo, the production model is expected to closely follow the design philosophy of the concept. In addition, it will be similar to the ICE powered SsangYong Tivoli, get a new aero grille, redesigned bumpers, new LED headlamps and LED taillights and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels for greater range.
Talking about the battery pack, the electric version of the XUV 300 is expected to get a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric XUV 300 is expected to deliver a range of around 350 km on a single charge. Mahindra XUV 300 being 4.2 meters in length, it will no longer fall under the Sun compact SUV category, which is expected to be priced from Rs 18-22 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete directly with the MG ZS EV.
